The primary purpose of the Compensation Manager is to plan, develop, implement and execute new and revised compensation programs, policies and procedures (Salary and Hourly) to be responsive to Company goals and competitive practices. The position ensures the plans/programs are consistent with company policies and applicable state and federal laws, as well as maintains salary structures and hourly ranges in addition to modeling for Budget processes and incentive programs. The position is also responsible for survey participation and compensation analysis to keep salaries, hourly wages and compensation programs competitive.

Responsibilities include:

  • Partner with internal customers to develop and maintain position descriptions (hourly and salary); conducts position evaluation and compensation analysis to ensure accurate grade and compensation to maintain internal equity, market competitiveness and to attract and retain talent
  • Support design and implementation of Monthly and Annual Incentive programs as well as ad hoc incentives
  • Assist HR and other Management on compensation related issues
  • Responsible for compensation survey participation and results analysis
  • Ensure consistency in programs, salary structure, hourly ranges and total rewards
  • Prepare analysis for and submits proposal on salary range (structure) movement every two years or as determined
  • Provide compensation analytics for HR Team and locations to maintain compensation structure
  • Work with HRIS and IT staff to ensure the Oracle HCM Compensation
  • Module meets company requirements for annual review process and reflects changes to salary structure, hourly ranges and other compensation programs as appropriate
  • Lead the common review process for salaried employees to ensure annual process is completed according to the annual review program
  • Research and maintain knowledge of federal, state and local compensation laws and regulations
  • Propose and implement changes to maintain compliance as necessary
  • Prepare annual reporting metrics for FLSA and EEO-1 Reporting

 

Requirements

Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field with 6-8 years of compensation experience required, including compensation analysis, salary surveys, creating and executing compensation programs
  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) required and SHRM or HRCI designation (preferred)
  • Knowledge of FLSA, including overtime exemption requirements and duties test
  • Knowledge of government regulations as they apply to compensation programs, company policy and operations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be able to present information for compelling business cases
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in work required
  • Excellent computer skills – Excel, Power Point, Word, Outlook
  • Some overnight travel required – location visits, compensation results reviews and team meetings 10-15%
  • Familiar with HAY Job evaluation
