We are looking for someone who gets excited about data. Yup, data. We need someone who enjoys using that data to tell a story. We also want someone who understands and supports equity and fairness in the workplace, and the positive impact those standards can have on an organization.

More specifically, the Compensation/Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) Analyst is responsible for assisting in the administration of all assigned day-to-day operational functions for classification, compensation, performance management, career development and HRIS. The Analyst is responsible for providing support to the Director of HR Operations and the HRIS Manager. 

What you will do in this role

  • Participate in salary surveys.
  • Benchmark staff salaries and make recommendations for salary adjustments as needed.  Provide assistance and information to employees and managers regarding classification and compensation.
  • Prepare initial salary placement recommendations for new hires. Perform due diligence through internal equity reviews, market data and analysis of candidate credentials and experience.  Maintain and update the on-line compensation system.
  • Oversee the day to day performance management process.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining compensation policies and strategy. Serve as member of the Staff Compensation Committee.
  • Manage the “career ladder” program, including all reviewing, approving and processing annual career ladder requests.
  • Provide training, when needed, on performance management and compensation related topics.
  • Serve as a backup for human resources data entry. Conduct routine audits of various payroll, HR or Benefits records/files to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Produce standard reports and assist in the creation of ad-hoc reports and queries using system delivered tools.   Assist with gathering necessary data for the affirmative action program.
  • Assist in the annual salary increase process for faculty and staff.


What you will bring to the position

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • At least two years of related experience.
  • Current knowledge of local, state and federal legislation governing employment and HR-related functions including ADA, EEO, and FLSA.
  • Demonstrated experience in data analysis. Ability to analyze information and exercise sound judgment in formulating recommendations and making decisions.
  • Strong attention to detail and technical aptitude.
  • Strong problem solving and conflict resolution skills, including the ability to anticipate issues and concerns whenever possible.
  • Intermediate-level knowledge of MS Office
  • Knowledge and experience with ERP or HRIS systems, preferably Ellucian Colleague. 
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and deal tactfully and effectively with applicants, administrators, faculty, staff and the public.
