To provide centralized compensation, performance management and related professional-level support services to a multi-hospital healthcare system, including a large academic medical center.  Responsibilities include but are not limited to: performing all components of job evaluation/job pricing; preparing and communicating outcomes of job evaluations to management; designing/administering various pay programs (e.g., base pay, incentives); serving as a resource and consultant to management regarding the development and maintenance of jobs and job descriptions; establishing and all processes regarding second jobs (maintaining second jobs codes, rates, and performance evaluations); conducting job audits/job shadowing to better understand the work performed by jobs in the organization; participating in published salary surveys; reviewing published salary survey results to determine competiveness of benchmark jobs; conducting equity and wage compression/alignment analysis; modeling and determining the financial impact of compensation related recommendations; and working with Employment staff in established hiring guidelines and the feasibility of wage counteroffers.

 

Requirements

 

Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance or Human Resources and two years of professional-level HR experience (as a Recruiter, Compensation Analyst, Benefits Analyst or HR Generalist) or 5 years of full-time professional-level Human Resources experience.

 

 

 

Master's degree in Business or Hospital Administration is preferred and will substitute for a year of required HR/Compensation-related experience.  

 

 

Prior experience should be in a role that involves decision-making, strong communication and analytical skills and strong systems knowledge (HR systems, Excel, etc.).  Must demonstrate professional and operational knowledge of the multiple Human Resource functional areas, to include demonstrable knowledge of labor laws (e.g. FLSA & exempt/non-exempt designations and their determination).  This job requires an individual with initiative, critical thinking skills and the ability to take on multiple assignments, adhering to multiple and changing deadlines and priorities, working in a hospital environment and excellent oral and written communication skills.  Must be organized, versatile, and able to work independently.
