Coastal Carolina University is accepting applications for a Classification and Compensation Specialist (Human Resources Coordinator) in the Office of Human Resources and Equal Opportunity.

Duties will include, but not be limited to: assisting with classification and compensation actions; reviewing, researching and gathering information to perform in-depth analysis; accurately matching jobs to market data by assessment of duties; analyzing compensation surveys; providing assistance in the review and processing of requests for job audits and administrative reviews for all staff; conducting FLSA reviews; establishing and renewing time-limited positions for the University; monitoring hours and determining benefits eligibility in association with the Affordable Care Act; performing analyses of data, creates reports and presents results of findings; generating reports; assisting with special projects; and performing other duties as assigned.

Requirements: A bachelor’s degree and experience in human resources. A bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field is preferred. Experience in preparing/reviewing job descriptions; conducting job analyses; assigning appropriate classifications and compensation levels; comparing internal and external data; and ensuring compliance with FLSA standards is preferred.

A successful candidate should possess strong analytical, quantitative and creative problem solving skills with an ability to organize and summarize data, and make recommendations; be detail-oriented and possess critical thinking skills; be able to plan, organize and effectively manage multiple assignments; be able to work in a fast paced environment with frequently changing priorities; have the capacity to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the University community; and be able to create reports and present findings. Knowledge of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and Affordable Care Act (ACA) is preferred. Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills are necessary. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills and organizational skills are necessary.
