The CHRO fulfills a critical leadership role in support of one of our district’s most valuable resources, its people. This position is responsible for influencing and executing all aspects of the district’s human capital strategy and for delivering on the promise of highly effective employees in every position to ensure our students achieve their full potential.


The ideal candidate has successfully provided human resources leadership within a large, complex system; has had success in affecting significant change and influencing policy; and is highly regarded as a leader of people. This person is an advocate, an expert, an influencer, a leader, a systems thinker, a decision maker, and more. Most importantly, the ideal candidate understands the important role the CHRO plays in supporting our schools and students.




1. Master’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Human Resources, Educational Administration, or related field; 


2. Equivalent to five (5) years of full-time leadership experience in a comprehensive human resources program including individual accountability for more than one of the following functions: staffing, recruitment and selection; compensation and classification; labor relations; and employee services. Experience in public education desirable. 

Knowledge of: Principles, practices, methods, and techniques of leadership, process performance management and supervision; organizational development principles; applicable state and federal employment laws; functions, processes and practice of human resources administration, including staffing, recruitment and selection, compensation, classification, employee services, risk management and benefits; principles of labor relations practices including collective bargaining, progressive discipline and dispute resolution; human resources information systems and automation; principles of continuous systems improvement; and District policies, procedures, goals and standards.
