4 Point Consulting is helping Fit Small Business add to their rapidly growing team once again! Fit Small Business, is seeking a Chief Human Resources Officer to create, lead and scale the development of a world class HR function. We are a fast growing, profitable, NYC-based startup with over 70 employees and growing. Our publication is read by over 1.5 million small business owners and managers each month. Our headquarters are located across the street from Grand Central Station.

Position Overview:

Over the last four years our business has grown from two partners working out of coffee shops to over 70 employees located across the globe. We have scaled our operations quickly, our growth is accelerating in 2018, and we are not stopping anytime soon.

We are seeking an HR leader who has a “roll up your sleeves” mentality. You can set up our people operations from scratch and then lead as both the head of that department and a key member of our executive team as we scale from 70 employees to 700 and beyond.

Responsibilities will include:

Building and Running a World Class Recruiting Operation - We have a great team, low turnover, and almost always end up hiring the right person for the job. We need to make sure the quality of our hires stays world class as expansion accelerates, introducing new managers in the process and increasing the speed of our hiring time without sacrificing quality. We have a lot to offer prospective candidates and we need create more effective employer branding, leveraging the fact that people love to work with us.

Employee Development/Leadership Training - We dedicate a lot of time and emphasis to employee development, however it is currently done on a one-on-one basis. We need to scale employee and manager development with formalized group training for both our new and existing employees. We also need to develop a leadership training program that allows our existing management team to continue growing their skills while also onboarding new managers promoting from within.

Formalizing our Performance Driven Culture - At the heart of our culture is the desire of the team to work with like-minded people who are driven by performance and growth for both the organization and themselves. We need to formalize this culture and how we communicate it so we continue our excellent retention and ability to promote quickly to handle growth. Our team is split between in-house and remote employees based both here in the U.S. and the Philippines, and we need someone who can integrate all the different pieces of our company into one cohesive culture.

Joining the Executive Team - This is a C-level position that will join an existing four-person executive team and will be involved in all high level decision making at the company. This role will play a pivotal part in our continued growth and success and is an incredible opportunity to sit at the strategic table.

Qualifications for success:

  • 7+ years of Human Resources experience, with experience in a leadership role.

  • Demonstrated success in building and leading a high quality systematic recruiting, hiring, and onboarding function.

  • Experience leading the HR Function in a high growth startup environment.

  • Experience designing and implementing employee development and management training programs.

  • Ability to be a mentor for an entire workforce.

  • Ability to deliver strategic, data-driven, and forward-thinking approaches to tactical and operational issues within the organization.
