The Chief Human Resources Officer role at Northeast Georgia Health System (NGHS) represents a unique opportunity for an experienced Human Resources leader, with the passion and talent to join an independent health system in a growing market, to be a key leader of this progressive, four-hospital healthcare system reporting directly to the system CEO.



  • Northeast Georgia Health System is a not-for-profit, independent regional health system with over 713 beds and 700 medical staff members representing over 50 specialties.
  • Four hospitals support the system, to include: NGMC Gainesville (557 beds); NGMC Braselton (100 beds); NGMC Barrow (56 beds) and the opening of a replacement hospital, NGMC Lumpkin, in July 2019, to include an emergency room, inpatient beds and other clinical services.
  • NGHS has received numerous awards and recognition to include America’s 50 Best Hospitals, 100 Top Hospitals, 100 Hospitals with Great Heart Programs, America’s Top Quality Providers, Atlanta’s Top 150 Workplaces and Healthcare’s Most Wired Hospitals and Health Systems.



  • Reporting to the system Chief Executive Officer, the Chief Human Resources Officer will provide a strategic view of Human Resources to support the business needs of NGHS, to include establishing a contemporary customer service oriented and innovative human resources division.
  • This position will be responsible for all areas of Human Resources and will prioritize human resource strategies that will focus on the growing business needs of NGHS in a highly competitive environment.
  • Additionally, the CHRO will serve as both a strategic and an operational leader, and will be expected to support, develop, and lead systems that align the organization’s human capital with the vision and direction of the organization.



  • Will possess a minimum of ten years of progressive human resources leadership experience in a multi-hospital healthcare environment, including proven experience with all aspects of human resources to include talent acquisition, employee relations, total rewards, leadership and organization development and change management.
  • Will have a Master’s degree in human resources, business, healthcare administration or a related field.
  • Must have strong relationship-building skills, be a trusted advisor and results-oriented, and have a personal value system aligned with the core values of NGHS.
