The office of Human Resources (OHR) provides services and consultation to the general public, applicants, managers, and employees.  Quality staff is our greatest resource in providing opportunities to offenders for their success.  We are committed to a workforce that is engaged and enabled.

The Office of Human Resources consists of:
  • Employment Services Unit;
  • Systems and Records Unit;
  • Payroll and Risk Management;
  • Corrections Training Academy;
  • Employee Relations Unit.
The Office of Human Resources is recruiting for multiple Technician III vacancies. Positions will provide technical and clerical support to the Office of Human Resources (OHR) Management Team, Employment Services Unit, Systems and Records Unit and/or the Human Resource E-Management System (HRMES) in all areas of the employment process.

Primary Duties:
Employment Services Unit (ESU)
  • Supports the ESU and OHR Management team by collecting, gathering, scanning, and organizing workflow, responding to emails, exchanging information with customer and managers;
  • Provides technical support in the area of CO Jobs/NeoGov, Microsoft, scanning systems, Microsoft Office, Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, and in various database tracking systems;
  • Provides technical support with the employment process which may include drafting, posting and modification of job announcements, reviewing applications for residency and degree requirements and scheduling panel assessments;
  • Obtains and/or captures information during the Selection process and reports on the status of various stages while supporting Employment Services and Human Resource (HR) Analysts;
  • Administers examinations and manages the assessment boards. This includes: scheduling the room, sending test notices, developing rosters, gathering supplies, providing instruction at the test site, scanning tests and examination files, updating applicant systems, briefing candidates for panel assessments, providing appeal information, providing breakdown letters for candidates on exam results, and generating required reports.

Systems & Records Unit (SRU)
  • Supports the SRU and OHR Management team by processing personnel actions/movements to include new employees, disciplinary actions, in-house transfers, promotions, demotions, resignations, terminations, cross certifications, re-allocations, creations and abolishment of positions;
  • Creates electronic personnel files for CDOC employees;
  • Updates statewide payroll system with changes to employee demographic information;
  • Conducts monthly on-boarding of new hires, ensuring a well-organized and efficient process;
  • Performs I-9 functions by accepting, verifying and electronically uploading documents in federal platforms.

Human Resource E-Management System (HRMES)
  • Supports HRMES and the OHR Management team by coordinating and ensuring compliance with CDOC Performance Management Program (PMP) to include year-end reporting;
  • Provides technical assistance to facility/staff by functioning as a point of contact for all HRMES related services and questions;
  • Maintains/updates training manuals; coordinates and administers system training;
  • Collaborates with the management team and the Office of Information Technology (OIT) to ensure peak performance of HRMES;

All Technician III positions responsible for other duties as assigned, such as:
  • Researches and compiles statistics, data measurements and prepares reliable reports in a logical and concise format;
  • Helps with special projects such as scheduling rooms, setting up for meetings, coordinating events;
  • Manages critical, sensitive and confidential information;
  • Processes and proofreads documents to ensure that they are accurate and complete;
  • Exchanges information, provides exceptional customer service, ensures quality control, accuracy and efficiencies.
  • Tracks data, generates communication and distributes information;
  • Researches and provides technical assistance to appointing authorities;
  • Speaks to and trains large groups.


Minimum Qualifications
Three (3) years of technical or high-level clerical experience. In order to be considered for this position, this experience must be documented in your application. 

College or university course work in Human Resources, Business Management, Organizational Leadership, or business related field may substitute for the experience on a year-for-year basis. A copy of your unofficial college transcript with your name, institution name, degree and date conferred must be attached to your application to verify your education.
