CAPE has an opening for a Benefits Manager. This position will be responsible for the management of all aspects of CAPE employee benefits program, and provides guidance and assistance to the CAPE workforce on all employee benefit plans.  The Benefits Manager will utilize benefit consultant(s) and other sources of information to stay abreast of trends and best practices in benefit design and management. This position will lead the evaluation, recommendation, and development of new and/or revised benefit plans and policies for the company.

Duties include, but are not limited to the following;

  • Manage employee benefit programs such as retirement plans; medical, dental, vision plans; life insurance plans; long and short-term disability programs; wellness programs, and voluntary benefit programs.
  • In coordination with Benefits Consultant(s) and senior management, develop census data, solicit quotations, evaluate quotations and make recommendations to management for benefit product renewals and new benefit offerings. Develop company cost information for new plans and make premium cost share recommendations to management.
  • Facilitate employee enrollments in benefits and renewals for existing employees for new plan years.
  • Conduct new hire orientations, and employee informational meetings.
  • Manage employee leaves of absence in compliance with FMLA
  • Ensure company compliance with the provisions of COBRA, HIPAA, and ERISA to include preparation of reports and applications required by law to be filed with federal and state agencies
  • Maintain knowledge of changes to state and federal laws pertaining to benefits and report necessary or suggested changes to senior management. 
  • Ensure that the CAPE benefits program is legally compliant and senior management is kept abreast of benefit plan activity and proposed changes impacting benefit plans and annual budgets

Requirements

5 years progressive HR experience administering employee health benefit and 401(k) retirement plans; 5 years progressive business experience.

Bachelor's Degree in HR or related discipline. HR Certification such as: PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP.

Lifting up to 50 lbs., frequent sitting at a computer for extended periods of time. Moderate exposure to noise in the work environment.  Candidates must successfully pass standard CAPE pre employment drug and background screens.
