The Whitney Museum of American Art has an opening for a Benefits Manager who oversees all phases of benefits operation for the Whitney employees’ accordance with established goals, policies and procedures.

 

-        Manage the administration, compliance and communication of employee benefit programs such as 403(b), medical, dental, vision plans; life insurance plans, disability plans, FSA and supplemental plans.

-        Manage the open enrollment process including employee communication and updating the HRIS system with plan design and employee contribution changes.

-        Provides assistance to employees in decision making and problem solving regarding medical, prescription drug, dental, vision, Flexible Spending Account Plan (medical and dependent care), WMAA retirement plans (defined benefit and 403(b) retirement plans) and, 457(b) deferred compensation.

-        Manage all employee leave plans and workers’ compensation claims, including but not limited to FMLA, short-term disability and long-term disability.

-        Works closely with insurance carrier representatives and brokers to ensure that proper and efficient service is being provided, and ensures that changes in coverage are implemented due to legislative mandates.

-        Manage benefits contributions and payments, ensure reconciliation and audits including eligibility, provider invoices funding for 403(b) and FSA contributions.

-        Develop and management of Wellness Programs

-        Conduct benefits orientation for new employees and prepare various regulatory reports.

 

Requirements: B.A. ( M.A. desirable); 5+ years responsible experience in the benefits administration area.  Requires excellent analytical, communication and interpersonal skills; excellent mathematical skills and the ability to multi-task; good judgment and the ability to maintain confidentiality.  Requires computer proficiency skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Explorer and HRIS. Position requires ability to work independently, set goals, and achieve immediate and long-term goals.
