The Benefits Manager will plan, direct, and coordinate Authority Brands self-funded benefits plan and compensation structure.

Essential Functions

  • Oversees all annual processes including analysis of plan effectiveness, conceptualizing and presenting a business case for change, selecting and overseeing consulting services, plan audit and discrimination tests, and filing annual forms (e.g., 5500, HIPAA, 401(k)).
  • Monitors the effectiveness of existing compensation policies, guidelines and procedures recommending plan revision as well as new plans that are cost-effective and consistent with compensation trends and corporate objectives; coordinates implementation and provides guidance to corporate staff.
  • Monitor market conditions and government regulations to ensure their pay rates are current and competitive
  • Create and manage the benefits and compensation processes and procedures for implementation throughout the company
  • Manages the administration of direct compensation (executive, exempt and nonexempt cash compensation programs) for corporate staff, including the processing, recording and reporting of compensation-related actions related to salaried employees.
  • Administers benefit programs to include record keeping, reporting, compliance requirements, analysis/benchmarking and serving as primary contact with providers.
  • Assist with providing strategic direction and planning for all aspects of the company’s employee benefits programs.
  • Oversees the effective communication of the company’s employee benefits plans, programs, and changes to optimize understanding and maximize participation.
  • Directs the effective administration of leave policies, compliance and regulatory reporting and HR documentation management.
  • Take ownership of the administration of the workers' compensation program. Responsible for claims monitoring and administration, report generation, and communication with employees, managers, and insurance carriers.
  • Create and analyze job descriptions evaluations and classifications
  • Provides counsel to Executives and employees regarding benefit policies and practices.
  • Ensures timely and accurate processing of all billings and invoices related to benefits administration.
  • Develops, prepares, generates and analyzes ongoing and ad-hoc special reports pertaining to employee information and data, including but not limited to issues such as benefit costs, EEO and compensation.
  • Responsible for leading the planning for and execution of the benefits open enrollment process
  • Responsible for assuming a lead role in any plans to integrate compensation and benefits programs with other corporate entities

Education or Experience:

  • Five to seven years’ experience in the administration and management of self-funded benefits plan.
  • Experience with self funded insurance plans
  • Experience in creating compensation structure and salary ranges
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource or related discipline
  • Working knowledge of and skill in interpreting and applying federal, state and local statutes and applicable rules and regulations related to the management of employee benefits and compensation plans.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • SHRM-CP and/or PHR certification
  • Franchise and multi-state employees
