The Benefits Coordinator assists employees with benefits enrollment and changes; answers questions regarding benefits and directs inquirers to appropriate resources; manages all insurance billing; maintains benefit files; and assists with day-to-day benefits operations.


 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Assist in the administration of various employee benefit programs, including group medical, pharmacy, dental, and vision plans; health and dependent care flexible spending accounts; health savings accounts (HSAs); life, disability and accidental death and dismemberment insurance, 401(k) retirement plans; commuter benefits; and wellness programs.
  • Prepare self-bills and verify the calculation of monthly premium statements for all group insurance and benefit plans, and maintain and reconcile enrollment data relative to payment of invoices and expenses. Resolve administrative billing problems with the carrier representatives. Track expenses against the monthly budget and assist with revisions to budget forecasts as needed, as well as with the preparation of the annual budget.
  • Respond to questions regarding the Workday benefit self-enrollment system, including questions regarding employees’ initial enrollment and desired benefit changes, as well as benefit changes in the event of qualified events.
  • Monitor the Benefits Mailbox (e-mail) and answer questions promptly and accurately, requesting guidance in advance as needed and forwarding complex inquiries for review by other benefits team members.
  • Maintain benefit filing systems and ensure files are organized and up to date.
  • Direct employees with benefit questions to available resources on the firm’s intranet, and refer employees with health and dental claims’ issues to Health Advocate or other appropriate resources.
  • Send periodic benefit-related communications, including required employee notices, from the Benefits Mailbox on behalf of the department.
  • Conduct benefit orientations as needed and requested.
  • Coordinate annual enrollment meetings designed to help employees obtain information and understand their benefit offerings, including reserving meeting rooms, sending invitations and monitoring responses from attendees.

 

  • Prepare benefit reports as needed.

  • Other duties as assigned.



Requirements

Skills:

 

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication (oral and written) skills.

  • Self-motivated and achievement oriented, with strong organizational skills and close attention to detail.

  • High proficiency in using Microsoft Office suite, including strong skills in Excel and data presentation.

  • Strong commitment to maintaining confidentiality.

  • Commitment to working in a collaborative work environment and working as an effective and productive member of the benefits team.

  • Flexibility to work beyond the standard workweek as needed to ensure the Firm’s needs are met.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree required; HR or benefits specialization or certification preferred.

Experience:

  • Two or more years of benefits experience preferred.
