The Office of Human Resources is undergoing significant change with a focus on strategic consultation and the development of a comprehensive talent management system. The AD HRIS will report to the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) and will be a key member of the Human Resources leadership teamwith considerable impact on a broad and complex range of strategic HR initiatives. The AD HRIS is responsible for implementing and maintaining HRIS solutions based on the strategic and functional needs of University Human Resources (UHR) and Oregon State University. This position leads and manages the development, implementation, maintenance, and coordination of HRIS initiatives such as new system-related projects, enhancements and upgrades, and development of an HR technology roadmap. The role demands a high degree of consultative skill, understanding of HR processes and practices and HR systems knowledge and problem-solving skills. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher that supports functional understanding of Human Resources and Information Systems and
  • Eight (8) years of progressively responsible program administration and project leadership experience in information technology with large, enterprise-level information systems.
  • Four years of additional full-time professional experience related to the position responsibilities may substitute for the required degree.
  • Professional experience must include functional understanding of effective HR management practices, supervision and leadership, structured HR data content, business process analysis, and knowledge of industry best practices and new technologies.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational and leadership skills required to accomplish work through delegated action or cross-functional work teams or committees.
  • Ability to clearly and effectively communicate concepts and procedures to senior management, groups and individuals with varying backgrounds having divergent needs and points of view.
  • Proficiency with technologies used in a large business operation, such as electronic workflows, spreadsheet and database software, networked systems, shared electronic files, imaging, and web-enabled business applications such as online tasks and downloadable forms.
  • Demonstrated commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity.
  • This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a criminal history check and be determined to be position qualified as per OSU Standard 576-055-0000 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in youth programs may have additional criminal history checks every 24 months.
