What does an Administrator of Payroll & Benefits at Mark-Taylor look like? You are well-versed in all aspects of high-volume payroll and benefits administration. You are strategic and analytical, but also a strong executor and communicator. You have a strong attention to detail & time management skills. You possess an entrepreneurial and forward-thinking mindset.

 

The Work You’ll Do:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for advising employees on payroll, benefit eligibility, enrollment, coverage, and other related questions.
  • Prepare and process high-volume, bi-weekly payroll (including exempt and non-exempt employees.)
  • Manage and calculate taxes, deductions, and exemptions.
  • Calculate commissions and bonuses when appropriate.
  • Investigate and resolve any payroll discrepancies.
  • Partner with vendors to design comprehensive benefit packages.
  • Coordinate and facilitate the implementation of new benefit packages and benefit renewals.
  • 401(k) plan administration, including coordination of external recordkeeping and fund performance monitoring vendors. Coordinate quarterly Fiduciary Retirement Plan Committee meetings and ensure fiduciary responsibilities are appropriately met.
  • Serve as subject matter expert on all items relating to ACA, ADA, COBRA, ERISA, FMLA, and LOA.
  • Keep and update all employee files.
  • Produce and submit various reports regarding payroll & benefits to management.

 

Requirements

The Skills You’ll Bring

  • High School Diploma required, BA/BS degree preferred (Accounting, HR, or Business focus also preferred)
  • 3-5+ years of payroll and benefits experience in an organization with 500+ employees
  • Paychex experience a plus
  • Strong interpersonal communication and time management skills
  • Data analysis & extraction experience
  • HR Certifications a plus (CBP, CEBS, training from WorldatWork, etc.)
  • Excel proficiency
