Dynamic Human Resources Manager
PHILLIPS Programs, a well-established private, non-profit organization serving children and adolescents with complex developmental needs and their families through special education day programs and career education programs is seeking a full time Human Resources Manager.
Working in collaboration with the Chief People Officer and a dedicated team to include an HR Coordinator and Recruiter, the manager will be critical to the success of the department and meeting our mission. The manager will be responsible for general human resources activities with the primary focus on employee relations as well as hold office in all our program locations. The successful manager will be able to multi-task with energy and have excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills while working with all levels across the organization.

Requirements and Qualifications:
Education:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or similar field
- Master’s Degree and/or SHRM certification plus
Experience:
- Seven to ten years or more in a generalist role
- Supervision of direct staff preferred
- HR experience in a nonprofit association preferred
- Experience in managing processes for a staff of 250+ preferred
- Experience in managing responsibilities and processes in multi-sites preferred
- Experience with advising, consulting, and training with staff of all levels for various needs and employment relations topics
- Proficient experience and knowledge in full life cycle recruiting and staff development processes
Skills and Competencies:
- Good sense of humor a plus!
- Proficiency in Microsoft Applications and various HRIS systems
- Working knowledge of federal and state employment laws
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and pass a criminal background check
- Must have the ability and willingness to travel to different program locations in DC Metro area on a regular and as needed basis
- Excellent customer service, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while daily interacting with staff on HR related topics
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
